Here is an absolutely stunning example of the most expensive production car that was possible to buy during the 1970-1980’s.
Launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1975, the Camargue was in production 1977-1986.
Rolls-Royce Motors produced just under one a week over an eleven year period.
A total of 530 Rolls-Royce Camargues were produced with 526 being delivered to Customers of which 140 were Right Hand Drive.
The first post-war Rolls-Royce not to by styled in-house – instead an outside firm – the Italian style house Pininfarina, styled by Paolo Martin
Among the many unique and new features which made the Camargue so special include the never before 7 degree incline styling for the Radiator Grille as against it being absolutely vertical and the introduction into production of the innovative leading edge automatic split level air conditioning system which was the culmination of eight years of R & D development.
The body shell was built in the Mulliner Park Ward division of the factory which had by now been relocated to Crewe. The Rolls-Royce Crewe factory team carried out the mechanical assembly. It then returned into the hands of the Mulliner teamr trimming and final finishing and was given a 100-150 mile road test before final certification and polishing.
This particular example has been driven by a careful enthusiast and has undergone a comprehensive and exhaustive restoration to “show standard” by our firm.
Taking a year to complete, all the mechanicals have had an exhaustive refresh…”it now drives like a new car”.
With a recorded mileage of 41,400 miles only, this car feels fresh with all its original leather interior in superb condition.
Finished in Acrylic White with Parchment leather hide upholstery and complimented with Avon White Side Wall tyres. Available with updated Alloy Wheels. Original Wheels and trims also available.
